Bill Carter
Coach - U14 Girls BIO: Coach Bill Carter holds a USSF C license and a B.A. from Furman University. While playing as a goalkeeper during college he gained the experience to train and play in this position while overseas in Germany. Coach Carter started his career in soccer as a goalkeeper for the German City Teams during his tour of duty with the U.S. Army. He played at this competitive level from 1985-1989. While playing in Germany he attended the German Soccer Coach Training Programs where he studied and received the Level 1 German Soccer Certification. After returning to Georgia in 1989, he took a position as the boys and girls Head Coach for the U-13, U-16 and U-19 Premier Teams with the Columbus Youth Soccer Association. He served the Columbus Youth Soccer Association from 1989-1995 as both a Board Member from 1990-1993 and the President from 1993-1994. During his time in Columbus he trained a team that progressed from Premier B to Classic II in an accelerated timeframe. After leaving Columbus, Georgia, Coach Carter continued his career at Andrew College, in Cuthbert,Georgia. He served Andrew College as the Head Coach for both the Men and Women’s teams from 1995-1997. Coach Carter was instrumental in creating, developing and recruiting the first women's team for Andrew College. As part of his responsibilities for Andrew College he oversaw all aspects of the Soccer program. In 1997 Coach Carter moved to Albany, Georgia where he became a Georgia Youth Soccer Clinician and instructed coaching clinics to coaches receiving the G and F licenses for the state of Georgia. He held this position from 1997-2008. While holding this position he also served as the Head Coach for both boys and girls at Deerfield Windsor High School in Albany, Georgia. After leaving Deerfield Windsor High School, he took the position as the Girls Head Coach at Tiftarea Academy. in Chula,Georgia from 2004-2006. Coach Carter came to Bay United in the Fall of 2008 and is presently coaching U12 Blue and U12 White boys teams. |
